They’re efficient, eco-friendly, and a fantastic way to keep your home comfortable year-round.

A heat pump is a device that transfers heat from one place to another. Unlike a furnace which generates heat, a heat pump moves heat from outside the house to the inside during the colder months and vice versa during the warmer months. It’s a dual-function system that offers to heat and cool your space.
There are two main types of heat pumps to know:
The technicians sent by this company quickly came out to fix my broken air conditioner. The technician did a great job and was honest, charging a fair price for the fix. My AC works great now that they are done with the job quickly and well. I'm happy with the service! Keep up the good and honest work. Will use them again if I need HVAC service.
My HVAC unit was only about 10 years old and I needed to get a new one. Their staff was incredibly friendly, responsive, helpful, honest, and easy to work with. At its core, a heat pump is essentially a reverse air conditioner. In the winter, it gathers heat from the outdoor air and brings it inside to warm your home. In the summer, it works in reverse by pulling warm air from inside and expelling it outside. In short, it pumps heat by cycling refrigerant through the system.
Since heat pumps don’t generate heat themselves (they just move it), they use much less energy than traditional heating systems like furnaces or boilers. This makes them a highly efficient option.
We touched on this earlier, but it’s worth diving into because one of the main selling points of heat pumps is their energy efficiency.
Since heat pumps don’t burn fuel to create heat (as a furnace would do), they use significantly less energy to operate. Instead of creating heat, they simply move it around. In fact, for every unit of electricity a heat pump uses, it can transfer multiple units of heat into or out of your home.
Another great benefit of heat pumps is that their maintenance is relatively straightforward and typically involves:
It’s always advisable to leave this work to a trained technician, but handy property owners who have confidence in their skills can handle maintenance themselves.
If your home isn’t heating or cooling properly, you hear grinding, banging, or squealing, you notice that your energy bills are rising despite your usual usage, there’s excessive frost or ice buildup on the outdoor unit, and/or the blower isn’t working, then it’s time to ring Alvarez Heating & Air Conditioning.
While maintenance can be DIY work, repairs are always best left to qualified technicians. A trained technician will not only fix the issue but also perform preventive maintenance to keep your system running smoothly for years.
